Academics
Dhulikhel High School houses students from all parts of Nepal and provides a caring, friendly and well-structured educational environment. With a special emphasis on holistic development, we value students who are intellectually curious and creative. We mentor them towards attaining academic excellence with co-curricular activities, and responsibility towards the environment integrated into the learning process. The efforts are to remain abreast with the latest in the field of education, keeping the academic program contemporary and rigorous at all times.
The school is affiliated to the Government of Nepal, with English as the medium of instruction. The school has a dedicated faculty of highly qualified and efficient teachers, who use modern techniques of teaching. Interdisciplinary and experiential learning is encouraged to strengthen conceptual knowledge.
With adequate infrastructure facilities, along with supportive and affirming learning experiences, the students of our school have excelled in all fields and have proceeded to study in the top colleges of Nepal and abroad.
Faculties
Mathematics
The Mathematics Department of the Dhulikel High School is a family of dedicated teachers who help the students develop computational skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. In the course of their learning students obtain the ability to critically assess numerical and graphical information; learn to formulate strategies for solving problems; and acknowledge the importance of being intellectually curious.
Science
The faculty have always encouraged students to pose and pursue questions. Their natural curiosity is appreciated, and the teachers act as true facilitators teaching them how to find answers for themselves. Our students also get an ample opportunity to explore the Science that surrounds them at all times. This is done through practicals, experimentation, nature walks and field trips. The Department also supports Interdisciplinary and experiential learning to instill in all the students a life-long enthusiasm for the process of scientific discovery and a commitment to the responsible application of science. The five E’s (engage, explore, explain, elaborate and evaluate) are followed for an enhanced learning outcome.
English
The English Department is the creative Laboratory of the School. This Department not only prepares students for examinations but also for creative writing and oratory excellence. The Department comprises a dedicated team of English teachers of high caliber and immense creative wisdom. Apart from a focused thrust on producing good Board results, the teachers work towards strengthening language skills of the students through various literary activities. Public Speaking, Dramatics, Reading clubs, website updates and school publications are handled by the members of the faculty. The teachers also conduct fun activities to whet the appetite of the students for the language.
Nepali
The Faculty of Nepali comprises a team of dedicated teachers who constantly work to develop and re-energize the learning of Nepali through various classroom and ‘outside the classroom’ activities that not only teach the language in a learner centric manner but also lead to a systematic development in the use of the language. A number of activities like role play, creative writing, language games, debates and group discussions are conducted for enhancing the language skills and imagination.
IT
Apart from subjects in Computer Science with Python and Multimedia, a parallel courseware developed is being taught to students. The basic objectives of IT education are as follows: With Adobe Photoshop students learn to create high quality banners, pages, backgrounds, and buttons. In addition, considerations of compromising high quality for file size are also explained. We help them learn programming with C, basic concepts of a structural programming, the basic syntax (if, else, for, do-while etc.) of the programming language. The aim of the Department of Commerce is not only to satisfy the vocational needs of the students but also to provide a basic understanding of the various principles, procedures and practices related to business. Our students are equipped with the entrepreneurial outlook and attitude so that they are motivated to take initiatives with calculated risks. Emphasis is put on imbibing practical skills such as presentation, communication, analytical skills and problem solving. Project work, organisation of seminars and workshops and taking up field work gives our students an opportunity to learn by doing.
Art
Art education enriches our students’ lives and learning. At DHS we believe that all students deserve the opportunity to experience a rich Art education. It stimulates and encourages creative growth, increases the understanding of the importance of Art and design in our contemporary society. The students learn to enjoy and appreciate works of Art in different mediums like water color, acrylic, pen and ink drawing, oil pastel and so on.

Physical Education
The school provides a matrix of intra and inter-School sports activities. Depending on the season, all boys undergo training in various outdoor and indoor sports. The boys train under the guidance of Resident Coaches available for all games.
